How do I get to you?
Off Road NZ is located 20 minutes North of Rotorua off SH5 heading towards Hamilton/Auckland. Just follow the signs.
Do you have a Shuttle?
Yes, a complimentary Shuttle is available from Rotorua City for those without transportation. Bookings are essential and subject to availability.
What are your opening hours?
Off Road NZ is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 9am to 5pm. We will operate after 5 by prior arrangement.
What do I bring?
Off Road NZ provides all wet whether and safety equipment. All you need to bring is sun protection for the summer, your camera to catch the action, a big sense of adventure and a "can do" attitude.
What do I wear?
Dress for the great outdoors - covered shoes/jackets/hats.
Do I need to show my drivers licence?
No, but you do need to sign a health and safety declaration confirming you have a current drivers licence in your country of origin.
Is a restricted/learner licence ok?
Yes, the same rules apply as the road - i.e. a guest with a learner licence must drive with a passenger who has held their full licence for 2 years or more.
Do I need an International Drivers Licence?
No, but you do need to sign a waiver confirming you have a current drivers licence in your country of origin.
Are there any age/height restrictions?
There are no age restrictions but the following height restrictions apply:
Monster 4X4 Thrill Ride = 1.2 metres tall, Sprint Car Racing = 1.5 metres tall
Do I have to book?
This is recommended to avoid disappointment.
If I am a passenger only on the 4WD Bush Safari, do I still pay?
Yes, the cost is a per person cost. Being the passenger can be just as thrilling and challenging as being the driver.
Can I drive the Monster 4x4?
No, our guides are specifically trained to drive the Monster 4x4 . It's not as easy as they make it look!
Are the activities suitable for children?
Yes. All you need to provide are child constraints (if required) for the 4WD Bush Safari . Children must meet the above height restrictions.
Will I get dirty?
Off Road NZ provides all wet weather protection to keep you clean.
What if it rains?
Off Road NZ is open WET or FINE and we provide all wet weather protection to keep you dry and clean.
